What a fantastic day we had at the International Greeting Card Show 2014!

Posted by Emma Gillett on

From the minute we entered to the minute we left both myself and my mom had a truly fab day.

On arriving at the show the first stand we loved was the new personalisation products from Second Nature.  I got the chance to personalise a card for a competition they were running so I’m my keeping fingers crossed I win. The Express yourself DIY is being shipped mid June and we cant wait to get it in store.  It offers an extensive choice of stick on captions and decorations so that you can really get creative and personalise cards, gifts or anything you think these great decorations can stick to.

We got to preview the new Disney cards from UK Greetings, which I must say looks great. Cant wait to order when they become available.

As we are finalists in this years RETA’s we were invited by Jakki and team to meet at the Hall of Fame to say hi and enjoy a glass of fizz and see our name on the wall of fame.  Its always great to meet people in the industry to share ideas with and hear how passionate they are about their shops just like we are of ours.

Lunch was fantastic too, all complimentary!!! hot and cold buffet with tea, coffee, water and juice.   Again another opportunity to talk with like minded people, as you are sharing tables with fellow owners designers or sellers.  It is great hearing what sells really well in their shops and the funny stories that come with owning one.

After lunch we were ready for an afternoon of buying.

We headed straight to Quitting Hollywood to purchase a couple of ranges of humour, I really like their cards andso do our customers.

Then onto the Hallmark stand.  The Hall & Co range is really something special for Hallmark very classy and completely different to anything thats on the market currently.  The stand looked great too, we ordered the new children’s ages and relations which are due in store over the next few months.

Next stop was ICG, its always nice to say hi and get the chance to see new product and place an order.

Its really great and very important to see new product from companies, our customers love that our designs change all the time.

Throughout the day we got the chance to meet new suppliers, which we will be introducing into our shop over the next few months.

Then at 6 o’clock the party!! what a great atmosphere and fantastic how the room we all had lunch in has now turned into a bar.  All complimentary again, a great selection drinks to be had.

We had never been to the Progressive Greetings Show before but I can honestly say we will be there every year from now on.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the PG Live team, Jakki Brown, Warren Lomax, Simon Boyd, Vanessa Fortnam, Ian Hyder  and Rob Willis for putting together a great show.  The whole day felt like a thank you show…Progressive Greetings thanking the business owners and buyers for being part of such a great industry and supporting the industry and keeping it alive.  We walked away with lots of ideas and new companies to contact.

If you are a have never been to a PGLive show then its a must!!!
